Re: Large Format Landscapes
I went camping in the western Sierra over the 4th of July weekend. I was in an area with numerous dome formations. I found this dead snag at the top of one of the domes and liked the juxtaposition of the young living tree and the stately old dead snag. The clouds below add to the feeling of being on top of the world.

Fujinon 150mm

C&C always welcome.

Beautiful Harley... Did you use a red filter if I may ask?
Re: Large Format Landscapes

Re: Large Format Landscapes
Although I usually don't like it when we "explain" photos, this one has several contrasting elements which work harmoniously and naturally. There is a sense of distance but a lot of detail. There is coarse texture in the trees but smoothness in the water. There is stillness in the trees but movement in the water. Most attractive of all perhaps, is the feeling of presence and a subtle luminous atmosphere. The slight sense of distance makes things just out of reach, so we feel like we're spying on something intangible. It's quite nice :)
