Re: Large Format Landscapes
thanks peter! that shot took what seemed like forever, like i said i was having a very hard time getting those limbs sharp, with a wider angle it would have been much easier, but i really like the perspective of the 210. normally i dont like to stop down more than f32 with that lens but didnt really have much of a choice. yes we went home and got into some dry clothes, then i took her out to her favorite restaurant, that was the least i could do for such a valient effort ;) thanks again. btw anyone going to the cherokee indian reservation should stop by this farm and take a look at it, it is very cool
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Thanks to those for the nice comments on my previous two images. Here are another two from this fall. I have been experimenting with some long exposure times, I'm talking minutes here. The first one is from the Minnesota side of Lake Superior. It was taken with my 8x10 with a Fuji 300 F5.6. The exposure was about three minutes and was taken about 2pm in the afternoon on a fairly cloudy day. The second one is from the Porcupine Mountain State Park area (Lake Superior also) using the same Fuji. That exposure ran close to 7 minutes and was taken at sunset. I had stacked a neutral density filter (4 stops) and a polarizer (2 stops) for both images. Also both were shot with Velvia 50 which helped extend the length of exposures due to reciprocity. Will be trying more of this. Jim

Re: Large Format Landscapes
And from me... wonderful images, Jim. Good to know about your technique, too. Congratulations.

Looks great. I too will have to try your method out at some point.
