Badlands are some my favorite places and there are so many of them each with a unique character.
For me growing up in the lush vegetation of Kansas being in badlands is totally alien, almost as good as going to the moon.
There is something primal about the harshness of these places while at the same time they exhibit some of the most subtle beauty.
I suppose people who have grown up in desert environments must feel the same sense of strangeness when they visit my environment.
I think I must have been a lizard in a previous life.
