Thanks Randy. Thanks Holden. I stood in this field for a long time making compositions out of the broken corn stalks on the ground but everything felt wrong somehow. Then I realized that what I REALLY wanted to do was not to make a picture of broken corn stalks, but a picture of what it feels like to stand in a field of broken corn stalks under a big empty sky. So I leveled the camera, cranked up the front rise, and voila! To think, it took me ten years to look up. :)

Jose and StoneNYC, thanks very much for the comments. It's the first time I've taken the LF kit out in awhile, and messed up a few shots due to skipping an item here or there on my mental checklist before tripping the shutter :)
