Here's my own favorite landscape
Both with an Osaka 4x5, on Ektachrome100VS, with a Rodenstock 150mm Sironar-N.
First is Emigrant Gap from the pulloff on I-80, second is Lake Tahoe from Emerald Bay overlook.
A high-meadow fence under a low-flying cloud. Early evening. Looking East.

These piles of tree roots are emerging everywhere in here, after the "eco fuel" thing.. so now, when they cut a forest down, they allso rip the roots for burning.. eco frendly they say. Somehow i doubt that :)

Why do i all ways see and elephants head in these...

This is one I shot a few weeks ago in a range known as the La Cloche Range, in Ontario, Canada, at the top end of the Great Lakes.
Shot with a Speed Graphic, 127mm Rodenstock, Ilford Delta, #12 Yellow, processed in Rodinal, 1:50.
My shot (just above) is a bit flat and mushy on the screen, but it looks better here at home!

The print looks better than this quick scan of the print.
Klamath Lake, Oregon. There may just not be enough going on here to be of interest, but I thought I'd throw it out to all of you. Feel free to critique - I can take it. I do find the duplication of cloud shapes in lower and upper levels uncanny.

:) Looking good, Gregg. I love the clouds in yours.

It ain't Tahoe, but it's home!
I have been to Crater Lake how far away is this location from there?
Gary,
Klamath Lake is the largest lake in Oregon, and it is maybe about 30 miles long. The northern end would be about 30 miles south of Crater Lake. The lake is also very shallow, which means it grows a lot of algae and is not that aesthetically appealing to many. It has some interesting ridges around it and islands in it, though. I took this shot from a park here in town that is at the very southern end of the lake.
The lake itself is not an obvious target for landscape shots, but after being around it a while one begins to appreciate its beauty. There are roads near much of its shore, and a railroad too on one side. I like to go out about 10 miles north of town, cross the railroad track and go down to the lake to shoot. With just a little care both the railroad and highway can be minimalized. Here are links to a couple digital shots obtained that way:

I don't see much reason for you Portlanders to venture down this way, what with Hood, Trillium Lake, the coast and the Columbia River Gorge in your area, but if you are ever down and want a tour, let me know.

Dear Gregg,
I get a malware warning when trying to visit that site you suggest...

A recent one that was done on LF (recently I have used MF quite a lot for change, the results are on my website :) ).

I removed the links from the post above because they may have led to pages with the malware that Jim mentioned. Sorry, folks!
Dear AbsolutelyN,
Excellent image... :)

It occurred to me just how much cumulus-type clouds have been almost wholly absent from my photos, it's mostly all overcast stuff. Awhile back the elements managed to line up and I got some cloud action.

Shen-Hao 4x5, TMAX-100, ID-11, 90mm Schneider, polarizer (a bit too much polarizer maybe, as the foreground is rather dark but that's why I love Photoshop. Although not enough to miss some really obvious dust spots. Sheesh!)
Gregg- I like your website very much, excelent work. I don't think Hood has anything over Mt. Shasta and Mt Mc Lofland .

Dear Sam,
Merci...
Occasionally, the snow clears away, allowing some great Canadian wheat to grow north of the 49th. :)

Dear Sam,
Speaking of snow... :)
An image toward the end of February, 2009.
The approaching spring warmth in late February can be felt in British Columbia, once you cross the Alberta and British Columbia Provincial boundary, compared to Alberta's frostier leeward side of the mountains. It is simply magical.

Toyo metal field, Nikkor 300mm, Velvia
This is from last Friday. A good 5 hour walk with the 4x5. This was the first time I ever dared shoot a sheet of Velvia without metering. There was too much snow that I didn't want to rely on my old incident meter, especially shooting into the sun. Didn't come out too bad but I think it could have done with perhaps another 1/3 of a stop.
good luck with your LF quest, this is one of my first large format shots taken a few years ago with a 90mm super angulon
forgot the image
here is another, taken with a 75mm super angulon
