Re: Large Format Landscapes
Great use of focus and plane of sharpness, love how the flowers pop!
Is this toned somehow? Seems a bit warmer compared to several of the previous shots posted.
Well done.

I really appreciate your kind words. Thank you.
As for the tone, I just used a warming filter preset in Lightroom.

Thank you Dennis, much appreciated. I haven't had chance to print this one yet, unfortunately.

Re: Large Format Landscapes
Redid the racetrack with my Epson V850, dry mounted, no dust clean up. Will wet mount next. Once my drum scanner returns from service, I will drum scan it. Scanner developed an ailment needs some penicillin. 8x10, Extar 14in Commercial lens at f/32 using 20 year old Tmax 400, developed in Tmax.
Cropped to 10x4 = 2.5:1

Thank you Martin. I almost ditched this one when I used drum scanner till I realized it was very sick and need of intervention. :)

Oh yes, I did use tilt while I was on my knees close to the sunflowers. But I realized after developing that I could do better with focusing.

Crystal Mill, 4x5 shot with E100. Either my 75mm Nikkor or 90mm Schneider.

On the un-calibrated monitor I use for work, (Samsung 65 in curved tv) the shadows look too blue, plus, as usual flicker seems to crispy the image by some weird internal sharpening they do when the image is uploaded. On my calibrated monitor, it looks fine, but I will revisit it and see. Maybe I was staring at it too long when I was working on it.

Simon Maddock - Very nice subject. However, for me the fogged film destroyed shadow detail. This might be one of a great series in different times of day, different times of year, and with good film.
-
Re: Large Format Landscapes
Simon, I find the tonality very fine, portraying a unified sense of the atmosphere.
