Re: Large Format Landscapes
Still going through all these amazing images. I recently got into 4x5 and this was my first effort (also my first time developing film at home). It's been fun revisiting old compositions with a new "eye".
- Intrepid 4x5
- Fujinon-W 150mm f/5.6
- Metered with an iPhone app (Lightme)
- HP5 / D-76 1:1

Thank you Martin.
My camera does not have scales for movements so I cannot tel you how much tilt I used, but for sure less than anticipated when I had the idea of the photo. Also I stopped down to f/45.

I've got a few sheets of Ektar to be developed that I shot not a million miles from this location. If I get something even a quarter as nice as this, I'll be very happy.

Many thanks, and good luck!

Do you mind me asking where you got the film developed please (assuming you didn't develop it yourself)? Thanks.
I develop my B&W at home but colour I'm going to have to send off to be processed. The usual lab I use for C41 colour - The Darkroom UK - doesn't develop 4x5 C41, so I need to find somewhere else. I'm currently leaning towards RapidEye based on some other recommendations.

Metro Imaging in London. Seemed to do a decent job, although a bit on the pricey side. I mourn the loss of Peak Imaging :(

Thanks Gabe.
Peak Imaging was literally within walking distance of my house. I used to drop film off at the reception in the morning and pick up the results in the afternoon. A real shame they're gone. :(

Yeah it's a real shame about Peak. I got the impression they hadn't really moved with the times - ie they weren't offering an economical dev&scan option for the burgeoning hipster market, instead all the scanning was aimed at the almost-extinct film wedding photographer market at £20+ per image and they would post you a CD-rom (despite computers with CD drives being rare now).
I don't shoot much C41 in 5x4" but the last lot I sent to this place in Nottingham:

I really like the tones and composition. Very nice.
