Here are a couple more from Zion in an off the beaten place in the Kolob area. These are from a series of photos that I am working on about the rock walls in both Zion and Capitol Reef. Both were taken with my Ebony 8x10 using a Fuji 600C, the first on Velvia 100 (which I am learning not to use in red rock country) and the second is on Velvia 100F. They are very simple shots trying to show the colors and textures in these wonderful walls.
They're gorgeous, Jim. I do like the color palette in the second one a little more.
Those are pretty nice, Jim. I have a fascination with that exact subject matter. Very hard to handle. Looks like you are getting a pretty good push out of that 600. I struggle with a 450mm on a 5X7 and feel like I need longer. I'm always checking through a polarizer to see how it affects the stripes and texture in B&W, and trying green, though the last time in CDC I went without anything a few times.
Hope to see more of the series.

10 year expired Velvia 50. All things considered I think it turned out alright, though there's definitely a color shift. Not much in the way of shadow detail either, but still. Hard to beat for the price.
