Thank you, Antonio. When I had to put my cameras down for years c. 2003, the ballet work was the part I missed most. The album is the ordered exhibit I printed at that point as a tribute to my 14 volunteer years with the school and company.

Dear Oren Grad,
Could you please elaborate on your decision to remove my latest post in this thread as not LF?
That picture was made with a Linhof Technorama (bought in 1992) producing negatives measuring 6x17 cm which have a surface of 102 cm2 on an emulsion (Fomapan 100) which is exactly the item of this thread.
As you might know, a 4"x5" is measuring 125cm2, so don't tell me that a nearly 23 cm2 is really making that difference, seeing this in the light of the results, AND the demanding knowledge and experience to handel that kind of (panoramic-) camera.
BTW, the lens used is exactly the same as on a 'traditional' LF camera: Schneider-Kreuznach Super-Angulon 90mm F5.6.
Allow me to add, that due to health issues, I can't haul my Linhof Kardan GT 4x5 (bought in 1991) anymore around because I can't handel this one as it is to heavy, the Technorama has become my substitute LF now...
Also, I can't afford a lighter wooden folding LF and the more expensive sheet film, as my health forced me out of business after nearly 35 years of being a self employed professional photographer (working with 4"x5" and 13x18cm).
Regards,
Phdgent

There is a thread on this site for 6x17 images, and I agree with Oren that Technorama images should be there. I also have a 6x17 camera and have never considered it as large format.[/I]
I have a box of 200 I'll be trying out this week.
I have to say the tonality of many of these (at least on my laptop) are quite reminiscent of Plus-X. It had its critics but I always like the look.

Hello, does anyone know if the reciprocity failure chart for the Fomapan 100 are reliable?
I mean, it is a very steep curve with values like those:
1s = 2s
4s = 21s
8s = 59s
May I consider that chart as still valid?
Thank you
Well, it goes along with what Foma published officially, so why not?
My experience confirms it too.
And for that reason not practical for long night exposures. FP4+ is a much better choice for that
Thank you Lasse
I haven't done a scientific study, but a few indoor exposures using FOMA100 with times of 1 minute up to 7.5 minutes indicate that the reciprocity curve is a suitable start point.
Regards,
Nick
Doesn't mean the same factor is necessarily equally applicable to their 200 and 400 films as well.
Here's an excerpt from my practical testing of Fomapan 200. The actual results do not match the extremely pessimistic numbers from the manufacturer's "guesswork".
Fomapan 200 reciprocity characteristics are supposed to be easy to test for so I tried. Well it wasn't so straight forward but three 120 rolls later here are some results:
The exposure level I chase in landscape metering is Zone IV = shade side of tree bark, dark rocks, etc. The question becomes "what exposure time extensions must I give for long exposures so I get the same negative densities for Zone IV as for short exposures?" Answers obtained:
Measure 1 second on the meter...give 1.5 seconds
Measure 2 ... give 4
Measure 3 ... give 7
Measure 4 ... give 12
Measure 6 ... give 18
Measure 8 ... give 28
Measure 10 ... give 40
Measure 14 ... give 48
For photographs of dark scenes I don't apply the full reciprocity correction. I want the final picture to match the scene with empty black shadows, subdued mid-tones, and a few gleaming highlights. Remember also that the shadow parts of the scene will invoke reciprocity failure in the film but the highlights won't. Extending exposure causes a strong increase in contrast because the highlights keep building density but the shadows lag behind. This can be controlled by reduced development. But reduced development can cause a loss of film speed which calls for even more extended exposure; and so on. It is not so simple to make dark scenes look like bright scenes!

Yes, the published chart is reliable.
The necessary compensation grows to 4 stops, but not beyond. I have done quite a few long exposures on Fomapan 100 and always used the chart, never had any problems. It does like a lot of light, better to err on the side of caution and give it plenty when in doubt.
I tested if it really wouldn't go any further beyond 4 stops a few years ago:

Thanks Peter,Foma is a great film to have as its still cheap at about NZD 2.00 a sheet.
I got the dilution from https://caffenol.blogspot.com/ which is an amazing resource .Its official title is Cafenol CL
Stand development for 1000 ml is as follows (weighed with a scale)
16 grams washing soda
10 grams vitimen c
40 grams coffee (granulated)
2 grams KBR
Agitatation was aprox 4 times first half hour and then stand the last part .Wash with water till clear and fix with Illford Fixer.Total time for Foma 100 @50 is 50 Mins
Adding the KBR was game changer as the negs come out of the tank looking very nice.

I got a big lightleak on this frame (about 40% of the left side has been cropped away) making this almost a 4x5 half-frame picture. :)
Luckily, I think it still works even with the crop (although I'm not sure about the wheelie bin at bottom left...).

Lens will just cover, 18"x18" area is as far out as it will focus. Amazing Sonnar bokeh. This lens is a fave for Pentacon Six fans, this is pushing the envelope with larger format. I like the delicate natural lighting on this one.

Hello, does anyone used T-Max developer with Fomapan films? I heard of good results with Fomapan 200; I'd like to know if somebody used it with Fompan 100 and 400 and may share his experience.
So far I use it with HC110 in 1+31 and 1+39 with good but not exceptional results (shadows are still very low without detail, unlike the same scene photographed with FP4 or HP5).
With the new (and continuous) rise of Ilford films prices I really have to consider to go only for Foma film in all the formats.
Thank you
I don't use T-max developer anymore. But I have had very good results from Fomapan 100 by exposing it at about 40 ASA and developing it in PMK at a rate of 1.5:2:100 for 10-12 minutes.
