Long time lurker
Hi,
I'm José, I lived for many years in Germany, and I'm now back home, in Chile. I collected a bunch of things there (mostly lenses and shutters), and now I'm trying to spend more time taking pictures.
I have an MPP VIII and a Graflex Super Speed Graphic. I was debating about getting a 8x10" camera, but at the end I never did it, and here is almost impossible to get any LF gear, so I think I'll stay with 4x5".
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for all the info I've got from here.
:-)

I have reason to believe that the majority of LF users never go past 4x5" -- for LOTS of good reasons. None of us feel inferior. We are all in the top 1%.

Welcome to the forum!
Once you go bigger like 8x10, you start to question your sanity and your bank account. And also your back. You can go lightweight which means more CL$$$$$$. Or you can go budget for a lot less. Then you pay for the annoyances like non folding, heavy, heavy tripod, etc etc.

Welcome, Jose. Always good to have people join. I hope you will eventually share some photographs from your beautiful country.

Thank you very much! I'm quite impressed by the number of people that stopped by and welcomed me. I really didn't expect it.
Also, I think you were very convincing in staying with 4x5". I'll make a list of the lenses I have that make no sense on 4x5", and I'll post them.
Also, I figured out that I knew QT Luong story! He studied with Nassir, my professor in Germany! They studied together in Paris. Nassir brought me my Graflex from USA, and he told me that some time before, QT showed him some negatives, with a level of detail he could not believe.
It was so cool to see the same story here!
