In another thread, jp suggested I take a look at some photos by Eliot Porter. I got the book he mentioned and was looking through it. There was a lot of close-up, but not "macro" images of patterns and textures. They were also color images that I would not have not considered traditional subjects for color film. With that in mind, I loaded some Portra 400 and looked for subjects that might convey the same ideas in patterns, fractals, and subtle color relationships. This was the one image that I saw in that vein. I feel like it's fairly abstract even though it's identifiable.
