old light meter repair shop recomondations
Anyone know a repair shop for old light meters? the one in Hollywood closed a few years ago and i'd like to get this fixed, its a sinarsix gossen. Gossen wont help but at least spoke with the factory people but just send me to the forums Thanks for any leads.
Re: old light meter repair shop recomondations
From my research... we are basically out of luck with vintage light meter repair. I read on another forum that Samy's Camera in Los Angeles might be sending meters out to "somebody" but not sure if that report has much validity or not.

You might try Spectra (http://www.spectracine.com/repair.html) but you might also shop for a new meter, depending on the cost of repair and calibration plus shipping.

I do have other meter but would love to get this working again. the needle does move but it just maxes out the meter while in and pitch black environment. I'll try them, thanks for the info!

Post here with that contact info when you find out please. Now that Quality Light Metric is gone, it would be nice to have another resource.

Well no call back, yet. Spectra was a name given but they have not returned my 3 call over the last few weeks...

i think it need calibration. when you meter in a dark camera (no light at all) it will max out the reading on both scales. battery meter reading looks good. I played with the calibration points and could get one of the scale points to not max out but would mot change its value when i opened the shutter and metered in the shadows vs the highlights.
Also i may have a guy who works on them but he's moving and all tools are in storage... looks like summer maybe...
