Voltage of Quantum battery 2 charger?
Hi All, Using a Metz 45 CL-4 I have bought a used Quantum 2 battery pack to power it. It needs a new battery (8v 3.2 ah) which I can get but it will come without a charger. Can anyone tell me the output voltage of the charger please? I am guessing 10v?
Thanks in advance
Cheers Dave
Re: Voltage of Quantum battery 2 charger?
The charger number is QB-28. Appears to be 12v 500 ma.
Available on eBay.

Thanks Dennis.....That's very useful. The problem is with the ones on fleabay is that they are all in the US and 120v input...I'm in the UK at 240v input but there are loads of 12v/500ma psu available.
Thanks again....Cheers Dave

Make sure you get the right polarity. May want to contact Promark brands for that reason. L

Good point but I have already established that it is centre pin positive.
Thanks Dave
Re: Voltage of Quantum battery 2 charger?
There may be pitfalls in improvising a battery charger. An important one is internal impedance. This may vary as the battery charges. Some battery chargers will revert to trickle chargers when they sense that the battery is fully charged. Long ago I enjoyed a career in electronics, but would not want to improvise a battery charger that would function without supervision.

I would have thought that the charging 'intelligence' would be in the Quantam rather than the charger?
