UniColor Dingle Bell Tested
Last week we discussed timers, somebody mentioned the Dingle Bell, never heard of it
Delivered 2 hours ago, NOS in Box with $30 Gary Camera & Digital price tag. Paid $22 delivered
Been testing it. Very accurate despite mechanical 30 second stops and spring wound. Compared with my iPhone timer well within 2% which is probably my error.
It works backward from a USA made spring wound kitchen timer.
and proudly marked in the mold, Made in W Germany 1972
Made for Color Film development in Unidrum mit Uniroller with multiple custom programing mechanical stops.
No phones in my DR

Re: UniColor Dingle Bell Tested
Mine is Jingle Bell by Unicolor. I got it about ten years ago, new like yours. The good news is it won't rust, but it can break. I love it, but I did have to repair one of the plastic levers inside. Since repair it has worked flawless. The keen worker will have obtained multiple clock faces programmed to various processes. I only have the single clock face.

Re: UniColor Dingle Bell Tested
I thought it looked a bit famiiliar - it looks like a Durst Coltim, but since it says "W Germany", it could well be something that Kaiser manufactured back in the days.

Re: UniColor Dingle Bell Tested
I've had mine for at least 35 years, it was an inexpensive and quite accurate timer.
I've used it continuously since I purchasing it, used it last week in fact. I've always used it in conjunction with a Junghans stop watch, which I've also had for 30 + years. The Junghans is the real exact timer, while the unicolor is the timer that alerts me to get back to whatever is being processed.
Time is set for FP4+ sheet film in D76 1:1 (14 minutes) with the second time set for 5 minutes fixer. :D

Re: UniColor Dingle Bell Tested
I've been using one for a few years and love it.
I found another one last week, new in box at a thrift store for $2.
Re: UniColor Dingle Bell Tested
I have a Durst Coltim which looks to be very closely related to the Unicolor timer, and also says "Made in W.Germany" on the base. It is excellent for printing.
