Not sure this helps you, but ... The springs on my DD 8x10 back on my V8 are 11 inches long.Quote:

The pin to pin distance is a critical distance and NOT easy to change, but can be done
I measured two of mine, one from the 1960's and one much later, both are 11".
Thank you all. I think that 11" will work for the 8x10 back that I have in mind.
