Poor Man's scanning solution

Earlier I posted a query about the Epson 850 scanner. I received a lot of valuable advice. One fellow suggested scanning my large format negs using a DSLR. I have been doing that on 35 and 120 for years using older prime lenses and bellows. I would not consider making a 35 mm internegative of a 4x5 transparency. That thinking prevented me from exploring that option. I had an unused 23dga Dichroic head and power supply in a box.
I made a wooden box with an aluminum sheet with a 162 mm hole at one end. The Omega D5 carriers fit in snuggly. The camera is a D-7000. The lens is AF-S Micro 40mm. Great results. It took me a while to trust the "focus assist" feature. The MC-DC2 cable release is also quite handy. The 40 mm lens is 1:1 capable. This set up can accommodate 35 to 4x5 easily. There is a piece of plastic on bottom of box to ease movement (so camera frame and negative frame line up).
