Fluoroscopy of my mother's belly 1948 killed my only sister
In the 50's it was shoe stores, my older brother loved doing it
We had those X-ray machines in the local shoe store in the mid 40's IIRC. They were pretty neat - we used to stick our hands in there to see our finger bones - heck we would have stuck our heads in if the slot had been tall enough. They were set up with (again IIRC) three view ports on a nice wooden case - one for the kid, one for the salesman, and one for mom or dad so everybody could see how happy one's toe s were in the shoe. Not such a bad idea except for one small problem that nobody was really aware of at the time, although by the early 50's states started banning them because of the radiation risk to sales people as well as customers..

Those are pretty interesting. I wonder how hard it would be to separate the scintillator from the sensor to get a 40x40cm (rather low mp) monochrome digital LF back.
Thanks for sharing that video - pretty cool!
