How do you post photos so they don't show up first as thumbnails
Just curious -- How do you upload a photo at a larger size so that it doesn't show up first as a thumbnail that must be clicked on to enlarge? Some of the forum members' work comes in as thumbnails, while others don't.

You need to link to an image file hosted elsewhere, rather than uploading the file to the Forum.

I was wondering this too, but I'm not fond of the general posting services. Also, some posted images appear on my screen as larger than my screen in one dimension. That's not good either. For now, I'm sticking with the thumbnails and giving those that do, too, extra attention.

I use dropbox for my hosting svs - it's free up to a certain amount of space.

I am guessing that has to do with the image size that the person posting it has uploaded. I usually size mine at no more than 800 ppi (vertical) and save it at no larger than about 100kb

What happens if they cancel the service or you lose the relationship somehow?

Then the links break. Images shown here (and anywhere on the Internet) are ultimately ephemeral.
I store my images on my own site, so the links won’t break, except when I screw up and let my certificates expire or something. It’s more of a pain than a free service, but I have much more control over the image.
I just put the URL between image tags.

I keep my photos mainly on FLickr but they're raising their prices again. Where else could you do something similar like Flickr?
