Like the out of focus rendition of the Wollensak 240mm Raptar at f/4., do not like the out of focus rendition of the Fuji GX180 lens at f/3.2. There is a round softness to the Wollensak the Fuji does not have.

Really like the Veritar f6, perfect for this subject. Interesting that the soft focus lenses retain some face detail in the background jack-o-lanterns. Thanks for posting this comparison.

Yeah, it's better to call these Portrait lenses. The original idea was to give a fast lens, one needed for natural light portraiture with slow materials, a larger zone of approximately equal sharpness than standard lenses. They trade maximum sharpness for a bigger zone of equal focus...along with some glow.
