Light-weight flip-up glasses
Rather than tag onto the magnifier discussion, I'll start new.
I use flip-up magnifiers -- a good solution for my slightly astigmatic glasses, but the inexpensive ones I ordered are relatively heavy, and I find my glasses slipping and the magnifiers getting knocked around more than they might, due to the weight, in the process of alternately using them and flipping them up.
Perhaps someone can recommend lighter-weight/thinner (min are perhaps 3/16" thick) ones that are no too expensive, by which I mean, maybe $15-25, if possible. It's a long-term investment, but my overall photo budget is nonetheless constrained. I think I paid about $12 last year for ones I have.
Thanks.

Re: Light-weight flip-up glasses
I have a couple of +2.5 sets from Fisherman Eyewear. Once set lives with my LF kit, and the other usually follows me to work for the occasional fine jobs.
This is what they look like on my regular prescription glasses:

When they are flipped up they stick out at 90 degrees. I'd say the thickness is about the same, but being plastic they are light. The stronger the magnification, the thicker they will be for a given material.

I use these; $10 from Cabelas and you can choose your magnification:

I always find the need to turn my cap backwards so I can get close enough to the ground glass.

A review on Cabelas recommended these and they all kinds of mags, http://store.mageyes.com/hateyes-5.aspx

The issue with the Cabella’s magnifiers is that they only clip to the bill of a ball cap. Those that clip to your actual glasses are more versatile.

I must have linked to the wrong product. The flip-up magnifiers (4x) that I got from Cabelas attach to my glasses with a spring clip. No cap needed.
Sorry for the confusion.
There are these from Cabelas, but these are not the same as I have and only available up to 3 diopter: https://www.cabelas.com/product/Cars...9.uts?slotId=4
These from Amazon look better: https://www.amazon.com/Magnifiers-Co...6YTVHVHHN550DP
