Compur Dial shutter cleaning.
Hi all,
A very common old shutter, Compur Dial, a bit more complex than Compound shutter (I like this one more).
This holds a Goerz Berlin Doppel Anastigmat Series III 180mm (dated 1896-1900).
I'm going to use this one in winter time, so better to clean it now .

CLA .. .well Ok if you have just got to do it yourself.
I have all my leaf shutters maintained by Mike at Professional Camera Repair in Houston. He does a great job on my Leica M-3 too.

Re: Compur Dial shutter cleaning.
An informal group of collectors and shooters meet at Mike's Professional Repair on the second Saturday of the month to have coffee qand talk about old photographica in the back room around 10 AM. We have a few who only collect and a few who shoot . . .from digital and film to alt processes.
On other Saturdays, a few of us gather even more informally in the lobby area to just talk. Everyone is welcome. Bring something you like and tell us about it.
Mike is aopen for business too.
Re: Compur Dial shutter cleaning.
Thank you Drew I would love to join any of those meeting and learn and share.
Last time (and only) time I was in Houston was around 20 years ago in 70's airport style doing transfer for my next flight, I cannot say I liked it.
I recently started on this with photo and camera repairs, when I don't know how to follow I try to look for info in internet, if not I go to Vitaly Naumovich seeking for advice, he is a legend in the city, very kindly advices me and he is always right. Sadly language barrier is high as my Russian is not enough for this kind of talking.
