Hi, Andrew: A nice website, need read it thoroughly! I plan to bring a 5x4 (not a 4x5) with a 47mm XL lens and a T 400mm lens. Leave my 12x20 at home:o. It should be okay in early morning, less crowded? Is it worth visiting Bath or Cotswolds?

Randy: good to know! Thanks!
I loved my month there for Y2K, so many great museums, good pubs. I ate excellent Indian food for dinner
I also spotted a 3 child set of Artful Dodgers at work. Very fast. Running. Bump, snatch, pass and gone. Best crew I ever saw.
Re: Visit London and its Vicinity
Maybe not close vicinity but London has several airports which can get you to many parts of Europe in a very little time often for dirt cheap prices. If you organize things correctly you could go somewhere interesting in the early morning and be back the same day.
Re: Visit London and its Vicinity
Thanks, will check the airplane tickets. I checked the bullet train from London to Paris, the tickets are very expensive in USA standard.

Both are fascinating. I used to live near Bath many years ago - amazing architecture. The Cotswolds are pretty but you will need a car to explore them thoroughly. You wll find plenty on line about both. The Royal Photographic Society recently moved from Bath to Bristol where it has a new centre. Plenty to do/see/photograph in the west country but I would say that you need time for them.

I have been in and out (for many years) I tend to go for smaller Cameras, most recently a Belair 6 x 12, I have further 'projects' in mind but they'll likely be with either a Canon 7 RF or a Yashica TLR, I'm intending to avoid tripod use
You can always pm me to discuss per se

I used Fuji rangefinders and fast film that could be developed locally back then, i.e. Ilford XP-2 Super.

Hi Peter
I well recall your London MF RF work, very good stuff too
Looking like water lilies in a Kew hot house unless I'm way off

Re: Visit London and its Vicinity
Was there last year in May, expect grey skys. A trip to Hampstead Heath is worth it, including Kenwood House. The Highgate cemerty is apparently worth a look to if you like that sort of thing. The camera museum in London is a fun spot to grab a coffee. Kew Garden is nice as is a trip out to Greenwich (has a camera obscura).
Re: Visit London and its Vicinity
I visited Honiley in Warwickshire and midlands areas around it. It's about 90 minutes from Heathrow airport. Motoring history was my reason but I enjoyed long walks with my medium format camera along quiet paths and fields too. An hour to the east was Bletchley park of WW-II and computing fame. The rural areas would be great for LF photography if you like that sort scenery. It's a lot more varied and interesting than US farmland in my opinion.
