Linhof Technikardan Compendium Shade repair

Any suggestions for repair and/or strengthening of the Linhof Technikardan Compendium Shade?

It's designed whereby large wood/sheet metal style screws are screwed straight into the plastic frame that the shade is mounted on. These are so large in comparison tot he thickness of the frame they stress and crack it.

Anyone else figured out how to make this stronger/ prevent all the holes from cracking the frames into pieces?

Super glue, the kind that is compatable with that type of plastic.
