Recommendations for labs that process C-41 (color neg) 4x5 in the US.
Looking for some recommendations for good labs in the US to process some Kodak Portra 400 4x5 I just shot as I found out my old lab is no longer in existence. I do not need scanning at the moment, just processing.
I found a lab in my area, the SE, in Montgomery, AL who cater to the wedding and portrait market, Indie Film Lab, who process for $8 a sheet and The Darkroom in California who I haven't used before but have been around apparently for 40 years, at $4 a sheet.
I photograph people in environments, not landscapes, which shouldn't make a difference with C-41 processing really, but I'm looking for the best skin tones possible with the film, so a good clean line and experienced technicians are quite important

Many cities have a lab that will process c41 up through 5x7. Richmond VA has Phototech Labs. E6 processing on the other hand became more rare during my 10 year haitus.

Praus Productions Inc. in Rochester NY. C-41 4x5films are $3.25 per sheet, and their quality and service are excellent. They have many fans on this Forum...

Thanks guys! I'd mis-bookmarked Praus under scanning. I've heard good thing about their scanning, which isn't surprising as he's based in Rochester.
