Re: Dia - surrealist dinner
Good job. Nice background and arrangement of flowers. Good lighting. Cute daughter, appropriately dressed.. Did you get any with her smiling?
Re: Dia - surrealist dinner
Thank you for appreciation Jim. No smile on this set, I'm afraid :)
Re: Dia - surrealist dinner
Few of the "great portraits" feature smiling subjects.
Very nice work, John. But a Fujinon 210? We'll have you on century-old British glass in no time...
Re: Dia - surrealist dinner
Thank you Mark. Much appreciated. As about the lens, this how the camera came, two Fujinon 150mm & 210mm. As a newbie in this field I was actually quite happy with the offer. What's the British glass you mentioned anyway?
Re: Dia - surrealist dinner
Those are excellent lenses. Enjoy them. Eventually you will decide to experiment with some of the older, often cheaper, lenses.

I like the Cooke Portrait Lenses. While the Fujinons can obviously make wonderful images, the Cookes are shinier and cost more. :)

Gosh, Mark... Don't tempt him take out a second mortgage on a house he doesn't even own yet. He's obviously capable of playing that Fuji lens like a fine violin already. That's a compelling shot, John. You're on the right track.

New Forum Rule: It's not large format unless you're on your third mortgage.
