Kerik,
I love these, especially the first one!
Hugo
Hi Jim. Thank you again. Jan inspired me to try and build my own. It's still in "beta" stage, as I need to instal iris and design back part of barrel and I don't have shutter, but I can't wait to complete it, so I'm taking photos with what I have :D.
Cheers,
Marko
Hi Kerik,
Your work is one of the reasons I picked up soft focus, and this images are lovely. As Hugo said, the first one is special indeed.
BDW, when will your gum over platinum gallery be ready to be put up on net again?
Cheers,
Marko
4x5" tri-x 320 7" petzval f4.0 Galli shutter
I have an image that I shot a couple of months ago, but I have no print of it yet to post. I can try and scan the negative and post it, but I loathe scanning...
Thank you Jim,,
You know, when I first seen your shutter and seen how you used it I thought,," no way I could hold those darkslides together, cover the lens with one hand and pull the film darkslide with the other, make the exposure and then put the film darkslide back while holding the opposite slide over the lens..
But, ain't to hard once you get the hang of it..:D I can judge the slit size and speed now and do 1/400th of a sec. with my eyes closed..
Many thanks to ya for sharing that invention..! checks in the mail :D
regards
steve
Here is one I shot with my lens and camera, but Mark Sawyer loaned me an 8x10 film sheet, developed and printed for me. 12" WAR wide open.

I think I can play, single miniscus wide open (no aperture) on 8x10, contact salt print. Not sure if it works, but a lot different than the one at f/32 with front tilt.
