C41 stand
I have a fix question, I think (related to C41 mainly). I have tried C41 stand and am surprisingly pleased with the result.
But, I dilute it a little more than normal - both the developer and the blix (Tetenals), and wonder if it's because of the diluted fix that makes the edge uneven?
The frame around is not completely black. Otherwise the picture is fine. Does anyone have any thought on this?

Re: C41 stand
Blackness of the frame/rwbate area is really a matter of digital post processing or exposure time when printing. If you have insufficient contrast for a good print (optical) with black rebate area the contrast of the negative is evidently insufficient (or exposure was too short), so changes to development may be necessary.
Did you notice any real benefit to this approach?

Re: C41 stand
In terms of quality there is no benefit, probably less. The benefit is convenience and ease. I do like the results - I used Portra 160 and I like the tones and look. However, I mainly do slides and develop using a Jobo machine, and for stuff that matters that is what I will continue to do. But doing C41 like this every now and then is fun and easy, and it also creates a certain degree of variation from all my other images.

Re: C41 stand
I also tried C41 stand development skipping the bleaching and just fixing (bleach bypass). This might work well for ECN2 but Im probably not going to bother that again.
