Quick question regarding light seal
I received a remarkable Kodak Master view with a very clean 12 inch ƒ6.3 lens.
My question is elementary. The previous owner sealed all around the rear retaining ring with an interesting black rubber-like, entirely compliant soft sealer. I want to remove it to use my own method or a new board.
The question is can I just melt it away with paint stripper? Acetone?
Edit: Silly me, I merely have to try acetone.

I'm with Bob - A sharp blade. I don't like volatile chemicals around lenses.

The lens separates in whole from the retaining ring, so I'm good. Thanks for considering.
