Cuypers, I love her smile!! Very sweet but kind of mischievous.
Cuypers, that's really nice.
Pete.
Thank you both! Here is another:

These were unplanned. I got some Grafmatics off of Ebay and wanted to run some film through them to check for light leaks and these ladies were kind enough to let me take their photograph. The process drew the attention of the rest of the group and I quickly got a line of willing participants. The last shot on the Grafmatic I used today jammed open and I am concerned about the rest of the 5 exposures.

Fantastic Luke!!!
What lens?
thanx bracan, the aero ektar close up :)
I really like that second one. Are the highlights gone on the negative?
Luke, if you don't mind me asking, what was your lighting setup for the first one? All natural?
@ Zaitz
yes a little bit cause i was concentrating on the face while metering
@ Axon
both all natural light/ seconde one, evening sun coming tru the leaves on the face
best wishes
Sort of a portrait.... Acros @80, Pyrocat HD.
C&C welcome,

Street shot at the Valdosta annual Barbeque Cook-off. Fooling around with my Army-issue Speed Graphic and matching 127/4.7 Ektar. Tri-X 320 in Rodinal. Super-contrasty southern-GA lighting, sorry I'm not God so I couldn't change that.

I've about had it with this scanner. Stupid dark bars from dust on the sensor but I can't get the damned thing open to clean it. Also, super pissed at myself because I shot a roll of 35mm that seemed like it was going to be awesome but I effed up and it slipped off the take-up reel when I put it in so I shot the whole thing with the film not advancing. Dammit.
I didn't know where to post this. No disrespect intended toward this thread!
I will have to go back when the "nose" is lit up. They have it on a timer, and so far the bear has stayed away from the blueberries.

Ok, an other ambrotype
I had to take this one at f32 as it already had a very short exposure of 2 secs.
I personally prefer less DOF, but in real this image shows an amzinlgy amount of details

But cleaning scanner might be in order :( looks like dust on ccd array or just dirt on calibration section of glass. Nice tonality and light though :)
Scott, I mean this in the most complimentary way......wayyyyyyy Sally Man. Beautiful kids and wonderful images.
Mark, don't you mean a touch of Alfred Stieglitz (at Lake George)?
I told them to just get up there and be however they want to be.
Then we did solo plates. One of them couldn't decide whether she wanted to smile and changed her mind in the middle of the exposure....a mere 2s ;)
It came out all wonky so I rubbed it off the glass and remade the plate.
It's always weird doing that....

I need more shimmering highlights to really set the soft focus off. Maybe I'll spray her with water today :D.
