Very much. Nice work. The elements capture my mixed feelings. The allegories are very clear.
Dead Set, great imagery there.
I made some waterhouse stops for a Petzval lens and this is one of the test samples I made with it.
It is an unnamed lens, no data engraved but I measure it as a 200mm lens with f/3.5
I used f/16

The first Daffodils always appear in late February, and it never fails to surprise me. (I grew up in a colder climate, where Daffodils are a May thing)
Made with Fomapan 100, developed in PMK.
Camera: Intrepid 5x7 camera with the 9" Wollensak Verito lens, at f4.5
Very good, I like soft focus images.
The structure of the dresser looks very clear and sharp.
I never used a Vireto lens, is is typical for this lenses?
With the Imagon I getting more or less softness when I change the lens extension but only in + direction. Like I realise it in your picture as well
The Imagon has not a real sharp level like anastigmat lenses have, it is more 3D.
Maybe the Verito works similar?
It is my understanding that the Verito works by producing two images that focus at different planes, so one is always blurred. (Sorry if I’m oversimplifying it, feel free to correct me)
The amount of softness is controlled by how much you close down the aperture. The 9” Verito is an f4.0 lens, and I rarely close down further than f5.6 since the softness is almost completely gone by f8.0

A different version of the previous image, made with that "short dated" Fomapan 400 Freestyle was selling cheap recently. Rated at 200 ASA and developed in Thornton 2-Bath developer (5 + 5) The Fomapan films perform beautifully in 2 bath (divided) developers.
Intrepid 8x10 with the 12" Turner-Reich Gundlach convertible lens (a favorite!)

Thank you very much David. I look forward to seeing what you produce! My recent experience with Fomapan 400 (and 100) has shown me that this is an underrated film, and I see no reason to malign it. My own perceptions of this being a "second best" film option have been dispelled.
Thanks very much! I look forward to seeing your images made on Fomapan.
Thanks, Ben!
Both of these are beautiful, the second one I prefer, the lighting is more specular. Those wall shadows are fantastic. I bought some Freestyle 8x10 Foma 400 and also Arista 200, which I think is Foma 200? Seeing these results I want to try the two bath, D23 has been my go to for quite a while. Inspirational.

Paul, this is lovely. I admit that I am partial to non-soft-focus images, though they have their charm and can sometimes, in my view, be very successful. For me this subject is better this way. The subtleties of of the shadows on the wall, the leaf on the book -- everything contributes to the unity of the composition, beautifully printed.
I captured this during a Fine Art Floral Perspectives Workshop at National Camera Exchange (Golden Valley, MN.) Still life and artificial lighting are a bit outside the norm for me, but I had a lot of fun.

A clipping from a tree in my backyard in which some fall webworms have made their silk nest. The small black dots near the branches are their eggs, which in retrospect I may accidentally have fried with a kilowatt of halogen backlighting. The print here is flipped and rotated; it felt unbalanced upright, and I find this fish-like resemblance appealing. I posted a closeup image in the trees thread.
