Show off your Large Format camera!
Okay, so tonight I wanted to play around with some new strobe gear and ended up making an image that I liked. My 4x5 camera just happened to be the subject, but it got me to thinking..
I figure that we are all proud of our cameras in one way or another. It may be your first camera as you just start to learn, it may be that shiny new toy that the gearhead in all of us gets excited about, or it may be a trusted companion that's been with you for years. Regardless - our cameras are our conduit to making the images that we care about.
So here's your chance - show off your baby!
(LF cameras only, of course)

my photoshop actions put the camera format onto my web images. It's not the title, but the format that took the photo. :o

My first day in the field with my 4x5. The coat served as a dark cloth and camera cover (overcast with showers) when not in use by me.

Well, I am kind of cheating with this picture. I have it, but have not used it yet. I am having a little one (16x20) built though.:)

Kinda tough to see, but here's my Tachihara 8x10 on location at Valley of Fire State Park just NE of Las Vegas. I wish I'd spend more than just 2 days there, but I'd just done a week in Death Valley and needed a shower...

Lachian,
This is handsome. Who made it? Looks like a lot of metal work.

Monty,
Come off it! You cannot really expect to satisfy us with a picture of two very cute kids and that one distant image of the special camera! Give it up! We would love to see much more of this special machine! What movements does it have and what lens did you invest in to match that class of ocean liner!

Wow that is a great set-up -- how do you like the Korean Cube head? Any problem fitting the plate under the camera's bed?

So far so good, I use a kirk 8" long board, it works very well. Adjust level is just a few seconds. :D It has bigger knobs. But locks on both pan is not big enough. And the friction control does make a difference.
I am waiting a 3530s to replace my 2530 tripod leg, as the center column is the weakest link of this set up.

Re: Show off your camera!
that looks like an interesting head! sure is an odd design, but I can see how it would make tilting simple. Those knobs, do they feel as small as they look?
Here is one of my Chamonix 4x5, in the Mojave again:

Re: Show off your camera!
If Arca-Swiss simply distributed a photo as cool (and basic) as that one, they would have sold twice as many Cubes.
Now I can really see why the Korean (and the Arca) head is fairly expensive -- pretty amazing hardware.
But I agree, the 8x10 and the head seem a bit much for a #2-series tripod!

Daniel,
Chamonix 045 with a ries tripod kind of weird, a super light camera with a heavy duty tripod.
The knobs on the geared head is pretty big (I think it is bigger than Arca's). So far everything is smooth.
Here is the first Chamonix 045N1 on this continent. I took the picture about this time last year.

Yea, it probably is an odd combo. I really like the tripod, but I'll probably eventually get a light weight tripod for when I bring the 4x5 out.

Re: Show off your camera!
Daniel, i noticed when i had your camera on my carbon fiber gitzo that it felt like the whole thing was going to tip over if i touched it or put a holder in it. It was almost too light of a set up!
