The lens is used well! I am head over heels in love with that wavy hair! but why did you not position the camera to frame her hands and legs too? There does seem that you had space on the top. Did this surprise you or was this your design? If the latter, then I'll look at it from that standpoint.

I hope you will share more of this study.

I imagine Dave wanted that beautiful hair and face to be in the sharpest centre portion of the lens.
