Okay, I got more done in the darkroom. I made a water chiller for wash water out of a junked ice chest and a copper "wort chiller" I bought off of Ebay. I also bought a thermostatic valve off Ebay to control the temp. of the wash water. I plumbed the connections to the water chiller with washing machine hoses as I didn't have enough space to work in using hard pipe.Attachment 170541
After 10 years of use I broke down and scrubbed/repainted the floor. Funny how a cleaner looking room makes me more eager to get in there. Now I'll have to wear new tracks in it!

Very good looking darkroom. Speaking only for myself, I like the sink/wet side to be closer to the enlarger so I can simply turn around, maybe make a half step. Still, it truly helps to have a newly clean space. Good on you! Make tracks.Quote:

Finally went to the store and bought one of those powder-actuated nail guns so I could get some boards onto my darkroom wall in the basement and put pegboard up.

Yes definitely wore hearing protection! I am already partially deaf (due to illness) so I don't mess around with that. I used to do audio in bars and would wear heavy-duty construction muffs, with many the odd look :).
I don't think tapcons work on solid block?

Not particularly exciting but I was going to mention, for those of you who like to listen to music or the radio in the darkroom, this set of Dayton Audio speakers I got for all of $30 on Amazon is fantastic. They obviously don't rival my set of reference monitors I use for pro audio applications but overall I couldn't believe the quality for a $30 set of speakers. B652 is the model #, and I think multiple resellers have the same speakers under their own brands.
I had an old RadioShack receiver/amp in storage that I hooked these up to and with a little tweak to the bass end they sound awesome for everything. The only bad thing is our bedroom is right above my basement DR so my wife gets a little annoyed when I'm up all night working and listening to music! :rolleyes:
Also, I found an app for my laptop called f.lux which has a "Darkroom Mode," turning the entire screen red and inverted. I use that when printing so I can choose music tracks or podcasts to listen to and not have any issue with exposure.
