I like the concept with the toppled chalice/vase and "spilled" flowers. The muted tones, crinkled paper background and diagonal composition work really well.

Hi Jonathan,
I like both of them, but he second one better. The (a)symmetry is captivating.
That's very kind, thanks. When my brother saw it he remarked on the "crooked" negative space between the stems. Honestly, I wasn't thinking about that at all while framing, but some parts of composing (I hope, 'cuz that's how it works for me!) are felt intuitively rather than planned.

Another one in a completely different direction, although not sure if it is a proper still life. Sorry to post so much but I've been shooting a lot lately.

Have it your way! :D
Shot this one yesterday with basically the same props I used all week, but with a projection lens that doesn't stop down and is a bit soft. Sometimes when using the Century I wish for front tilt, but you take what you can get. On the other hand, positioning the camera with the Semi-Centennial stand is a breeze.

And yet another one. Did this early last week as I experimented with the window light set-up. This was the shot that made me realize I needed stronger fill to bring the shadow side of the subject out from the background. Looking at the repetition in this series I think it's time to try a new vase. I'll definitely need new flowers; they're all just about dead by now.
