Boy, I can't understand it. Mine seems stuck at the JFK sorting center for the past two days..... Reading how other's cameras have advanced through to their doorstep has me tapping my fingers in anticipation.

Mine's in Baton Rouge, on it's last leg home! I'm flying home to Louisiana for Christmas, had it sent there :-)
As far as I can tell, mine is sitting with Robert's in San Fran.
At least my Canham showed up today.
Wow. It's really beautiful--well finished and well engineered. I can't believe how light it is and how compact when you fold it up.

well, i arrived home from work just now, and there is a delivery notice on my front door... Im not expecting anything else (although that doesn't mean its a surprise christmas parcel)
Called the post office, they figure it might be there in the next few hours. I'll post my findings!
Where the frick is my camera !!!!!!!
My sentiments exactly, David. My camera has been sitting in San Francisco for days now. I live in SF, so I'm getting a little frustrated. It would be faster if I went to customs & picked it up myself!
I have had several shipments of cameras and parts from Shanghai China and in each case I had UPS deliver they have agreements with, and take care of customs...brought right to my door...it was worth it.
At this point it is in the hands of USPS. The shipment cleared customs on Dec 18 at 9:39am. So, it's sitting somewhere in San Fran.
I think it's because I live in the wild wild west, and the pony express only comes out here once a month. :)
the camera has arrived! just opened it :)
So RooX,
where are you ?
I'm sure most of you will get your cameras tomorrow or Friday at the latest. The tracking lags behind the actual shipment. David--you must have come to NM from the east coast--we're an impatient breed. :) Big thank you to Hugo for handling everything so well and not skipping town with all our money. Seriously, this deal went down smoothly and I couldn't be happier with my *first* Chamonix. I look forward to getting some accessories for the camera in 2008 and seeing everyone's images. This is just the start of my journey with large format, so I expect I'll be asking for some advice around here.
Yeah... I am a new yawker.
I am just anxious.
I've owned tons of second hand cameras.
This will be my first brand new camera ever.
So...I want it bad.
Don't forget to post some images at

I checked the EMS tracking page at 6:30, and it showed the camera as being delivered! I could not believe it, and was surprised when I went down to my mailbox at the end of the road. There sitting nice and secure was a compact box! What a nice Chanukah present!
Thank you Hugo for handling this so smoothly.
I quickly set up and played with the camera a little. For anyone who is interested the bellows is very compact, and will allow for a 47mm XL to be focused using a flat board.
Tomorrow I will take it into the back yard and put it through it's paces.
Mike
Michael,
Nice work on your website.
In Calgary, AB.
was sent through Canada Post on this end.
The mysterious package sat in a room
Chinese characters inscribed
No tea inside, instead the Chamonix.
Remarkable not for what it is, but rather what it is not
Elegant and small, the camera gravity forgot.
Less is more, said van der Rohe--the architect was right
Nothing less and nothing more than a box for catching light.
Ahh - your best yet BarryS!
Picked up #34 from the post office this morning, looks sweeeet - blond with gray hardware, have to work unfortunately so will play later.
Chris.
Delivery in Austin, Texas today. Package is #21. Camera is numbered 0145. Walnut and black.
Scott - I'm very jealous. Mine (package #08) just cleared customs on Wednesday. I don't know why they held onto it so long!
Very happy for all you guys. Mine still says:

:-(
My experience tracking international parcels to the UK.
I found that Parcelforce do not inform the sender of its arrival or handling in the UK. Therefore they cannot update their information. Subsequently I found the tracking data for my parcels on the UK Parcelforce website.
Barry
Mine arrived this morning. The camera is really light and looks so nice. Thanks to Hugo for organizing this! It's been very interesting to follow almost online how the cameras travelled from China allover the world.
Good luck to all new Chamonix owners and I hope the rest of you will get your cameras soon!
Still waiting :-(
Me too.
Got it !! Arrived a few minutes ago in a surprisingly small box. It was delivered by TNT ...
Mine arrived home in Louisiana today! :-) I didn't realize this many people ordered one, that's pretty cool :-)
Mine is still in San Fran.
Mine is also still in limbo in San Francisco - I must have offended the shipping gods somehow!
So I just called USPS. The very quick and rude customer service assh@le told me that the package is currently enroute to it's final destination.
yeah....sure.
My arrived in Australia this morning. Great little camera!
Tim
Mine is somewhere on the island now - the USPS site is reporting: Processed, December 20, 2007, 10:40 am, HONOLULU, HI 96820. I'm not sure what that means, it probably will be delivered sometime tomorrow.
The last 4 months have been pretty rough.
I am just a spoiled little boy who is really impatient.
@davidb
It'll probably come tomorrow, but at least you can go shooting right away. I'm assembling my LF kit from scratch and I'm still waiting for my lenses/boards/film. I've got the nice ebay lady who complained about the long trip to the UPS store and *still* hasn't sent my 150mm. Plus the nice gentleman who I paid to ship UPS and he shipped USPS. I'm sure I'll receive everything just as soon as I'm back at work. :) I'm still enjoying fooling around with the Chamonix. Maybe I'll just make a pinhole.
Barry, it may be a bit more expensive, but have you tried looking at KEH for some of your camera accessories/equipment? They have a pretty good stock of all kinds of things, I've never had any problems with them, I've ordered everything from lens caps to camera bodies from them: 35mm, medium format, and large format.
Yah, I've used KEH before and those guys are great, but I was trying to snag some bargains. I've done pretty well on ebay before, but that was a couple of years ago and it seems flakier these days. I think I'll get my stuff, just a little later.
... And it's yet another day in HANGZHOU for the UK ones ...
It's incredible!
I didn't order one but have been vicariously enjoying the excitement/tension of this thread since Hugo posted the notice of mailing almost 7 days ago. It's been like one of the Saturday matinee serials waiting to see the next installment to see who got theirs and when ... now you guys are up to 20 pages!
The ironic thing is that davidb was the first poster after Hugo's notice on the 14th and he still doesn't have his.
The suspense is killing me ... will he get his before the UK buyers do?
I hope you guys will post some photos (of and by the cameras) and that someone will bring one to the June conference in Colorado.
Still....

I hope nothing has happened to these, I'm starting to get a little worried. I've bought quite a few things internationally and always the tracking info has been pretty reliable.

Jim,
the suspense is killing me too. still no sign of it. honestly, it has been a lot of fun watching this thread.
and I will post some photos when the camera arrives. mine is a bit different from everyone else's so I am a bit anxious to get it.
yeah! we see it is different.....it has NOT arrived! (evil laughter in the background)
looks like you UK boys are getting screwed. maybe you should have sent it to me and i could send it on to you.....would have been faster!
i have had mine since the 18th! it is getting dusty, scratched, and beginning to wear from all the use! LOL:) :)
