That's a wonderful photograph, Thad.
I am enjoying all of the work in this thread. Photography is so well suited to help us to remember these evanescent things.

Thank-you Joe.
The nice thing is that after the truck broke down, someone donated a diesel motor to replace it and the ski hill lives on. It's $5.00 a day for an adult to ski there and $3.00 for children. The board and bat weathered warming hut/lodge at the bottom of the hill has a lot of character also.
Don't know as this counts as Americana, but I couldn't find another place for it.

Abandoned church on Route 66, I-40 California. Amboy, CA. I may redo the shadows. Seems a bit too much Cyan/Blue in the shadows. Need to stare at something else for a while.

Cool gas pump.
Thanks Steven,

That looks cold!
In 2010 I volunteered to work for a month at a forest service ranger station located 25 miles inside the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. Here's a photo of the kitchen in the old ranger's cabin where I stayed. It was a great set-up, gravity fed water was heated in the wood burning cook stove and it had enough pressure for the upstairs shower in a clawfoot tub. Two coleman lanterns were used for lighting and I used my 4x5 Toyo AX with a 90mm lens. Its looking like I could do a series on kitchens I've cooked in!
