Re: Century Master Studio Camera Restoration
My camera comes with a front metal frame, see the picture below. What is this metal frame for exactly?

How do you repair pinholes (don’t want to buy a new bellows)? I bought some vintage tape and plan to tape every corner on the bellows. I am not certain it is a good idea. See pictures below. Thanks!

Re: Century Master Studio Camera Restoration
For the bellows I'd use 3M #850 polyester film tape. Available in red. It's thin - 0.05mm and won't affect compressed bellow volume.

Re: Century Master Studio Camera Restoration
Agree, please do not use Vintage Tape of any kind
The bane of old camera users' is 'Black Photography Tape'
Which is really nasty to remove from anything
Re: Century Master Studio Camera Restoration
Purchased this tape from Amazon. Thanks!

It is true. Vintage tape left a lot of nasty residues in old gears.

Thanks! It is true. There are many nasty tape residues in old camera gears, lenses, cameras and tripods.

The metal frame was most likely a support for vignetters or other modifiers.
Re: Century Master Studio Camera Restoration
I used black acrylic paint inside the bellows to block the pinholes. Takes a long time to dry.

Re: Century Master Studio Camera Restoration
Unless your pinholes are severe and/or you cannot use the camera in a dimly lit room, just throw your darkcloth over the bellows during exposure.
Re: Century Master Studio Camera Restoration
Good suggestion! Thanks.
