Just in case some might suspect that I suffer from arachnophobia, rest assured that I do not.
Immediately after rejecting the beauty of this spider picture today I went on a bike ride and suffered the third life threatening attack by these veracious beasts! They must be reading my posts and communicating with each other using cosmic psychic powers. Why else would this attack have occurred so soon after the offense?
While biking, I feel that I am trailing a spider web behind me, and upon seeking its source I find a large spider (exactly like the spider in the photo) trailing behind me left foot slowly creeping up its web to gain a better position for attack. I slow and begin to excitedly try to remove the spider by flailing my leg around. The web holds and I am not successful. Then suddenly my right bike handle clips a light pole and now I am on the ground with the beast, having lost all my advantage. Good news! I win this round of our battle to the death. I look back and see the beast motionless upon the path.
If at all possible, could the moderators make a “spider” photo sharing thread, and all pictures of these beasts be collected there, so that I do not need to have these things happen to me in the future. Good think I didn’t have my camera with me, or I would have lamented the loss of fine equipment.
