Peter, Randy, David, Jeff, Thank you. I feel honored by your praise, I really do. And lucky, too, to be able to share my pictures with you.
Maris, Thank you. I appreciate your saying that. Sometimes I think my pictures are a little too witty, or maybe I should say too mannered. Sometimes I think I should get a little looser and just let things "be." That's what I like about your photography actually-it has an honest feel to it. I mean to say, your straightforwardness honors your subjects. And I enjoy the subjects too; sometimes your pictures remind me of the Point Reyes peninsula in Northern California, where I roamed a lot when I was younger. I live in Oregon now and I miss the eucalyptus trees!

Earlier this year I determined to pause the compulsion to make photographs, take a couple of months off, open boxes of pictures new and ancient and just scan stuff to put it online. Oh, how I loathe scanning. It's a vile chore compared to the pleasures and wonders of the darkroom. Here's another one from the back catalogue:

Well I'm glad you bothered!

Nice capture at the time of day that shows good detail in the buildings.

Thanks, Jim. Acros works really well at that time of day. I used a Fuji GW670III. I'm having an issue with the file looking a bit fuzzy in my browser, while it looked fine in Photoshop.

Managed some darkroom printing this weekend. It was 27°C in my kitchen while printing this, but it came out pretty ok.

Given that gorgeous print, I think it's worthwhile to keep your house at 27C constantly - you know, just to rule out another parameter and thereby contribute to your future success. I have no advice to share on how to negotiate this with your partner and/or children.
