Thanks a lot Zach!
Wonderful tonalities...excellent!
Thanks a lot Bob and Johnathon!
Myxine,
Where is that rock formation? Beautiful composition and tonality.
Very nice myxine. Ernst tinaja is favorite hike of mine. Very cool area.
Wow...that's in Texas! How cool. Only a 10hr drive for me. ;)
Depends on where you are at. It's a big state ;-) but this is West Texas. I'm headed out to black gap wma on Saturday. First time there so I'm excited to see the terrain.
Thank you all!
Scott: how lucky! I'd love to be on the field again. It's been 3 weeks and I already feel antsy to go back
Ernst tinaja is in Big Bend. A very small and very pleasant hike. I'm a geologist, so it was limestone heaven for me. I have a few pictures of rocks and formations I'm quite happy with, present picture included :)

Love the bizarre cloud patterns, not sure that's how it was visibly. Also proves I need to be more aware of lens refraction of the sun!

Ha I am located near Houston. And yes it is a long ways away from my current location. :)
And Stone, interesting lens flare. I kinda like it. I wonder if the light had an effect on the clouds? They do seem "bizarre". I like the exposed area on the left surrounding the outcropping of trees.
It's even further away from New Orleans. A days drive for you, totally worth it. I would go between mid October to April though, summer is too darn hot

Last year, the first time I shot a few 11x14 chromes. 11x14 Velvia 50 is beautiful (even 18 years after the expiration date).

Oh my, yes, yes!
Wow, wonderful!
A shame RVP is no longer available in those sizes :-(
Wow...I am already worried about losing shots because I forget and leave the shutter open after focusing and taking the dark slide out.
I cannot even fathom making a mistake with 8x10 or 11x14!
I've screwed up a few 8x10 chromes (E100G no less...) but the ones shot right make it worth it! Once I'm done with my stock of E100G it's all Velvia50 for me now that I'm importing it to the U.S. :) glad to have discovered it's still made, just hard to get from Japan. Now I wonder if they still would cut it in 11x14 if a big enough order were placed. Good thing I'm moving away from 11x14 and heading toward 14x17 so I'm not tempted by color, hah!
Wow that velvia is impressive.
That velvia image is so gorgeous! I'll be shooting 8x10 version soon and am so excited.
The image itself is stunning also.

Nice! I like the romantic drama and appreciate the technical details.
I wish more people who post great shots here would share even half this amount.
BTW, must be the dreamy teenager in me – your image makes me think Rapunzel is up there, waiting for me to finish the shot so I can climb up and rescue her.
Pretty nice being able to use such an old lens Alessandro. Beautiful photo - nice and tack sharp.
I think some people (digital shooters im thinking) forget about those old beautiful lenses.

Sinar F, Ilford FP4, Nikon Nikkor-SW 75mm f/4.5. Set at f/22, 15 second exposure. Very dark with heavy fog. That's atmospheric fog, not film fog by the way ;)
Nice fishbulb. Very Mirkwood-ish. I like the composition and the leading and quizzical nature of the path.
fishbulb really nice texture, tones and composition.
yeah the vignetting really works well. I havent done this myself but i might have to
Had to find it!

Thanks Holden and Harley!!
Harley, I'll try to do as you said, see if I like it. I shot it with a 6x6 camera (no sky) and wasn't so excited about the results though
Here is a Lake Superior image from this past fall. I was trying to capture the interesting clouds and the rather unusual color. Not sure if it works. Taken with a Fuji 300 with my 8x10.
Jim, it works for me. Nice image and it captures the character of Superior.
and it definitely works for me too
good work
