It reminds me of my first years teaching college. I had been an 'A' student my whole scholastic life and always put forth my best effort in every subject, no matter what. The idea that a person would do the minimum to pass without trying to excel had never occurred to me, yet that was what the majority of my students seemed to do. I'm afraid I don't see the crime in that.

no where does it say this is a gallery for your best work.
it is a forum. a place for every one. to me it seems there are plenty of people honing their craft, which if it is any thing like painting will take a life time.
so it is of value to all the newbies to see problem solving as photography is similar for every one. camera light film etc
i dont think i have the impetus to try and write uni style art theory pomp like you.
as what you lack is humility humor and compassion. like frank he is a good role model.
if you try and set your self up as the hero you have to do battle to win
nobody just hands you the title.
so lets see how you handle the "home truths" that you claim others like me cant/wont.
the problem is your delivery system. if you attack, people defend. if you suggest and focus on the work at hand, people listen as its not their ego being attacked... psycology 101
the fact is we are all here together, so its best to use language that accomodates change and learning, i.e an atmosphere of support, a safe environment. and if you spit the dummy and run away, well we will all keep bumbling on as humans do, you can go be a god in your room by your self.
