It is a great place -- though I prefer the Reds further north (no poison oak!)
I was there two days ago with a few folks from this forum -- an unofficial meet-up. Perfect conditions! High fog and no wind! We had an 4x5, a 6.5x8.5, two 8x10's and an 8x20 working under the big Reds! Some of us are heading up to Jed Smith Redwoods today (as soon as I finish my tea and stop 'wasting' time on the internet!) -- Jim F wants to put his 14x17 to work up there. I'll be using my 11x14...have a lens I want to try out (Goerz 300mm), but I'll bring my standard 19" RDA also...and I'll toss the 8x10 in the van 'just in case'.

Here is my contact printing from last weekend. 5x7 cyanotypes.

I'm not sure I like the brown tones from the English breakfast tea. The whites are too stained.

I wasn't going to shoot this scene because the contrast was too high. However I had to catch the last ferry leaving the island and...well, why not? The negative was well exposed and the salted process handled it well. Forgot to crop the rebate at the far right on the scan.

Thomas, beautiful work - your salt prints are getting better and better! :)
Re: post alternative techniques
Thanks everyone! I really like this process - more so, probably, than any other alternative process that I have tried to date.

It was a great trip! I need a lot more time up there. It was nice to shoot from the car with the 14x17. I'll get film developed soon. Still recovering from my colonoscopy!
