I was having a hard time cropping this, so I slapped a matte over the 8x10 to see how it would be. It made everything better, so I exposed that way, which is why the soft lines and not-quite-white whites.
Around here we call that a fiddlehead. It's a young fern that hasn't unfurled itself yet.
Ornamental shrub out in the landlord's back yard. I think that I have the exposure for full macro down OK.
