Re: February 2011 Portraits
My Burke & James 8x10 is a keeper for outside the studio and sometimes I even prever it in my studio over my Sinar P!
The red bellows is much more sexy then a black one!!!!!!
...and Christopher a perfect shoot of a sexy lady, like it much!!
Cheers Armin

So this is my first sheet of 8x10 and my first soft focus image. Made with an 18" hyperion and hp5. The kid had ants in her pants so it's not the best example but i like it.

Well, you have a lovely first image to live up to from now on! Very nice! (I've never used a Hyperion, but I like the look!)

Uh-Oh. Somebody said the H word. What aperture was this? It's lovely.
Re: February 2011 Portraits
I believe the lens was wide open. I had some back tilt that kept the coat too sharp and my scanning process doesn't do the lens and very thin negative justice. It seemed softer on the ground glass. Are there any favorite film suggestions for soft lenses?

Mike, That was February 1969. You must need two tripods to hold the beast steady with a 450. If you are in Milan, I hope to see your B&J and family.

None here. Maybe someone else has something. I tend to use whatever I can get my grub hooks on.

Beautiful Image!
Re: February 2011 Portraits
I have finally put my 8x10" Master View to use. :D
This is HP5+ developed in ABC, contact printed on Lodima.
14" f/6.3 Kodak Anastigmat Ektar, used at f/8 in both cases.
The scans are just an approximation of how the prints look. My cheap scanner cannot pick up fine highlight details, while blacks in the prints are deeper than any computer monitor can display. The tie in the first picture is a deep black, but its fine texture is still clearly defined. I love this paper. And I love this format. :)

Untitled
First submission, taken back in December on Sinar P2 5x4, Adox CHS 25 ART. University's lens, can't remember the manufacturer but definitely 270mm.
Possibly one of portraits for my degree show.
