Re: Lets See Your Darkroom
It’s a combination of DIY, home made stuff and used bought gear. Besides a few process lenses and the developing tanks and — trays, nothing is really new. I hate to see people dumping perfect working and useful stuff. I like to dismantle and to overhaul these things and making them work as like they are new, if possible.
I always take good care of the developing reels, the SS ones are prone to deforming and then loading them is a hell! Plastic ones can become sticky due to dried on Agepon or Sistan. A well treated and developed negative is the beginning of a good print, but it is one of the most delicate stages of the whole process.
There are two darkrooms as the Colenta has his own title one. For the Colenta, water management is important as it warms the water and additionally mixes hot and cold water to keep the 90 l water-jacket on a good level and at a right temperature, particularly valuable for E-6 processing. An IR viewing system is nice to have.
There is some room for retouching and finishing to.
I am very lucky, and happy, to have ‚found’ the right house to put all this in… Actually, it is a former 19th century piano manufacture, hidden in the middle of a house block.

Louie- Some great ideas there. I especially like that film dryer..
Re: Lets See Your Darkroom
Nearing completion... I made some compromises. Partly due to my impatience, and also to allow for alternate usage of the space, in case my wife ever finds my hideout.
Re: Lets See Your Darkroom

Thanks Allen. If you are ever in my neighborhood, look me up and we can use it.
I hope to venture into the darkroom very soon....the only thing that has prevented me from using it yet is the fact my Kansas State University Wildcats beat BYU on Saturday and now my sweetie and I are heading to Salt Lake City for the Sweet Sixteen Regional Games.
GO CATS!

a advantage the room is 600 high above ground so bit of commando crawling to connect the pipes and I will be very happy.:)
Progress report : had some vynle to lay down for the floor covering bought rather cheap several years ago ,measure up to cut for width unroll vynle big hole in the centre Damn !!!!!
So floating floor for office is now in the Darkroom very swish Hole in corner to run all pipe work and if use of room ever changes simply place piece of flooring to cover up
holes.
I will run all pipe work face fit to wall so ease of changing locations and maintenence.
Skirting now and bit of Clear finish .
Takes so long Lol:D
