Six new pages of images done with the antiques
Occasionally some very nice folks express some concern that I've stalled in my exploits of working with the antique lenses and posting the results.
In fact I'm having a bit of a heyday but have fallen behind in posting on the web pages. So here are 6 new pages listed on a new Recent Work page. I hope some will enjoy.
Thanks!

I did!
And that Euryscop, wow!
Jim you're a legend.

Jim,
My previous statement still applies. When you finally decide that those Euryscopes are too sharp for your taste and you throw them out on the streets, just send them my way. I'll give those orphans a good home.

Wonderful stuff, Jim! Always a pleasure seeing those old optics getting out for a spin with someone who understands and appreciates them, and knows how to get them not only to sing, but to sing in harmony with the world...

Always fascinating stuff!

I like the Dagor shots, I was just looking out the window on the 5x7 with an old Dagor in a Volute thinking I'm ready to shoot this beauty.

Jim,
You're a sneaky devil. And I know you know what I mean!
Much fun; thanks for posting.

Great series, Jim. I especially like the images from the Bausch & Lombe.
Off-topic, lens-wise, but what film & developer are you shooting in this series? I love the tonality.

Re: Six new pages of images done with the antiques
Thanks Joe.
I've been using up a long roll of Aerial Recon Panatomic X. It is asa 32 film that was designed to be used in the big aerial reconaisance 9X9 overflight cameras. It's a pain in the butt. Each sheet requires double cuts, ie. you have to make a 10 inch cut then you have to trim that piece to a hair less than 8 inches to fit the holders. It's only 3 mils thick so it's kind of hard to work with. About the only thing going for it is the natural film curl holds it into the back of the holder nice and flat. You cannot find grain under a microscope.
That said it's overkill as almost any film in an 8X10 is going to give you the brute force tonality. I develop it in PyroCat HD. Home mixed from dry powders. Good to the last drop, and............cheap!
