Disassemble a pentax digital spot meter
Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how to disassemble a Pentax digital spot meter? The battery spring platform has fallen into the body of my meter.
I can look inside down the battery slot and see it. There must be a trick for doing this. It's about 12 years old, but I don't think the design has changed much, and I can't find the owners manual.
Thanks for all your help.

Disassemble a pentax digital spot meter
Brad, I had dropped mine several years ago and had to take it apart to fix it. If your look at the back side, where you look through it, there is a small plate with the serial number towards the bottom. If I remember correctly, this plate is glued on so if you remove it, there should be a flathead screw under it. This should free the battery compartment. Hope I'm right. Good luck.

Disassemble a pentax digital spot meter
Thanks Guy,
I found the screw beneath the serial number, and there is also a threaded ring under the viewing eyepiece that needed to be unscrewed as well. The spring plate that holds the battery fell off and into the body of the meter! I was able to reposition it and superglue two small plastic L shaped pieces to hold the plate in place. Works fine so far. I was about to try cutting the meter in half to gain access to the battery cylinder, and maybe make the meter smaller, but that would have been a very dumb idea.
Thanks again for your help,
-Brad
