I'm a fan of Dick Blick for such things. I've found the .005 mil Dura-Lar works well and is nice and cheap:

The classroom pack is a good deal.
I don't think Prazio sells Mylar sheets any longer.

I'd go with the aztek stuff. I thought I found a cheaper substitute from a vendor in new york only to find that the first pack they sent was dusty, it's replacement not much better. I've got enough dust, don't need more!
That dura lar is cheap enough to try though.
Sadly, Prazio is out of the scanning business.

The Aztek mylar really does have less dust embedded in it than most other mylars I've used..
I'd check a drafting supply or art supply house. They stock mylar for art uses and usually have several choices. I'd discuss the planned use is for scanning to ensure they give you the appropriate kind of mylar. It is still used by architects so there must be some in Edmonton, it's a large city.
