Re: New to LF - looking for some small parts
I can't help you directly but perhaps I can point you to help.
This site has many resources. One that's a little hidden is a link in the first post of this https://www.largeformatphotography.i...mainly)-lenses discussion. That link will take you to a list of links that includes one to the MPP users group, where there may be someone who can help you.
Re: New to LF - looking for some small parts
The MPP site is https://web.archive.org/web/20110524...ppproducts.htm. For a workhorse camera, consider bending a bracket out of heavy wire.
Re: Source for MPP parts?
Or https://mppusers.co.uk/wordpress/ for current members. Most MPPs were sold in the UK (they were made in Kingston, Surrey, not that far from where I was born), so that's your main source for parts. The VIII is a nice camera. If you are shopping for lens boards bear in mind that MPP VII and earlier ones will not fit.
Re: Source for MPP parts?
Thanks all. Looking like I may have to make one. Fortunately I have the bottom one as a template. I'm a member of our local makerspace and they have a well-equipped metal shop with the necessary saws, drill presses and mills so I'm hopeful I can get close to original spec.

Re: Source for MPP parts?
Screws are likely all BA sizes - what else on a British design from the early 1960's? When I needed to source a few for my MPP VII I had to go to a UK model engineer/model railway supplier.
If it helps, this is what the strap mount on my MPPVII looks like:

The interior fastening is black nuts, so the holes are not threaded.
