Have a look at page 13 of the 1927 Voigtlander catalog on Seth Broder's site: http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/voigtlander_1.html it is mentioned there. Rated at 16x21cm, so more 5x7 than 8x10.

Hey Emil it's the longest in the f3.5 series. It's a stop faster then the f4.5 Heliar. really nothing else, but that's saying a lot.:)

Here ya go

It can be found here at Camera Eccentric

Paul beat me to it. Good call.

thanks - would love to own it, but the asking price was over my limit...

I see the f3.5 Heliars for sale now and then--usually the shorter ones--and wonder if anyone has examples of what these look like wide open? I am curious how they look.

I actually have one of the 300mm f3.5 heliars. I am embarassed to say that I never shot with it yet though - I have not gotten around to making a board and mounting it yet (it is a BIG lens).

As far as the $1900 asking price of the one mentioned - the seller is dreaming. One just ended a day or so ago for under $900 (The $1900 one was a short sale auction - he was just trying to cash in on the other auction - you might want shoot him a realistic offer and see if he bites). I've only seen a couple for sale in the last 5 years and they traded for between $800-$1200.

The the f3.5 heliars in the big sizes are hard to find but they are out there. I took a chance on an auction with horrid photos and a seller with almost no feedback and got lucky. I ended up with a fully coated burke and james refurbished model that looks like it had never been used since b&j rebuilt it (it even came with the original b&j shop box) - so deals are out there to be had.

Btw - when I get around to mounting and shooting with the 300 I'll post some photos on this thread.

I have a 210 3.5 and it is very creamy wide open. Will try to find an example and if i can't, it will be an oportunity to take a photo with the lens.
Mine is mounted on a Kodak 2d 5x7 and it covers that format well.
